McBratney Sensei Demonstrates
"I would like to thank your kind staff not only for their skill and teaching ability, but for their patience, understanding and gentleness with children."

 
McBratney Sensei, the creator of the Mumonkan-Do Aikido Youth Program, is the father of five children and lives in Orange County, California. He began his Aikido training in 1985, and has been teaching Aikido to students of all ages since 1991. He has a Master of Science degree in the field of Exercise Physiology, and is currently an adjunct professor of Physical Education at Chapman University in Orange, California. McBratney Sensei is Founder and Coordinator of the Youth Program at Mumonkan-Do which began in 1991. McBratney Sensei is currently on a leave of absence. Okuma Senpai is currently teaching the youth class on Wednesday evening. Senpai Okuma has been a dedicated student of Aikido at Mumonkan-Do dojo since 1988.

In addition to the Youth Program at our Irvine Dojo, Sensei McBratney has taught Aikido programs tailored specifically to children and teens at the following locations:

  • Saddleback College
  • Orange Unified School District
  • Rancho Santa Margarita High School
  • City of Newport Beach Parks & Recreation
  • City of Irvine Community Services
